O MakeMoney e o Windows 8
O MakeMoney existe desde 1998. Isso deu a ele e à nossa equipe técnica a oportunidade de trabalhar com praticamente todas as versões do Windows já lançadas.
Estamos falando de MakeMoney rodando no Windows 3.1; 95; 98; XP; ME; Vista; 7; antes de chegarmos no Windows 8.
Uma coisa interessante que aprendemos nessa relação de quase duas décadas é que algumas situações são cíclicas. A pior delas, que para uns é uma lenda, para outros mera coincidência, é o fato de a Microsoft lançar versões muito interessantes de seu software e alternar essas versões com outras um tanto quanto instáveis e problemáticas.
Dando nomes aos bois:
- entre o revolucionário Windows 3.1 e o estável Windows 98, tivemos o instável Windows 95
- entre o 98 e o robusto Windows XP, tivemos o horroroso Windows ME (Millenium Edition)
- entre o XP e o agradável Windows 7, o famigerado Windows Vista
Não por coincidência, enfrentamos (nós e toda a comunidade de desenvolvedores de software) problemas com o 95, ME e Vista, quando lançados. Incompatibilidades, comportamentos estranhos e uma série de questões que foram sendo resolvidas à medida que a Microsoft ia lançando releases corretivos. Exceto no caso do ME, que de tão ruim a própria Microsoft parece ter desistido de consertá-lo e preferiu (para o bem de todos) antecipar o lançamento da versão seguinte.
Alguns de nossos clientes do Windows 8 já imaginam onde queremos chegar… Sim, a história se repete e o Windows 8 (8.1) é o patinho feio da vez.
Por isso, alguns de nossos clientes que adotam o Windows 8 relatam problema na hora de fazer o registro do MakeMoney. Felizmente, um problema de simples solução e que não acontece em todos os Windows 8.
Na verdade, não entendemos exatamente as causas, apenas que se trata de algum erro interno do Windows – que impede o registro do MakeMoney. Mas as causas pouco importam quando sabemos contornar o problema. E, como já dissemos, é uma operação simples.
Temos esperança que esse problema seja corrigido em algum release corretivo lançado pela Microsoft. Mas até que isso ocorra, se você usa ou deseja usar o MakeMoney 10 no Windows 8 e tiver algum problema na hora de registrar o MakeMoney, não se preocupe; basta ler e seguir as instruções contidas neste arquivo.
A propósito, as falhas do Windows 8 reforçam a tal “lenda”. Mas servem de alento, pois é um bom motivo para acreditarmos que o “Windows 9″ será um bom produto ! Já estamos ansiosos por ele!
